Chic Escape: escaping in the perfect Tilda style.

“Chic Escape” is inspired by brave people saving and bringing life and laughter back to old forgotten homes, and all our shared interests in vintage fabric, pottery and flowers. A very special thanks to the wonderful people at Chateau de la Lande for all the joy and inspiration”: these are the words of Tone Finanger herself, to illustrate the essence of her new collection, starting from its very name.

The designer herself, in fact, has explained that their (hers and her staff’s) escape during lockdown – a rather chic escape, she has added – was following all the charming people that have left their old lives behind to restore derelict French chateaus, on YouTube.

Starting their days knee deep in mud because of a leak and ending it with a cocktail party. “Spending an uncommon amount of time in their dressing gowns often paired with wellies”, underlined the Norwegian designer of Tilda. This is exactly where the patterns of this collection – larger than those of all previous ones – come from: moments of escape from the long, heavy lockdown The goal was to have the same level of detail in these larger patterns as in Tilda’s small prints… and we do think this goal has been achieved, don’t you think? And don’t miss the Daisyfield extras in 10 colors, designed using details from Wildgarden and to be a useful addition to the main collection.
